About Honke Owariya
Established in 1465, Honke Owariya is the oldest restaurant in Japan. Sourcing high-quality ingredients from all over Japan, from the kelp to the local groundwater, their buckwheat noodles and sweets have been enjoyed by the imperial family, monks, shoguns, locals, and tourists for over five centuries. We feel honored to be able to work with Ariko Inaoka, our friend and first female head of the family business.
