Lantern Lampshade - White & Gold

These lantern lampshades are handcrafted by the Kojima family in Kyoto. The gold accent adds a modern twist to the timeless but traditional craft.

The Kojima family has dedicated 10 generations to crafting Japanese paper lanterns. Their lanterns are called "Kyo-Chochin", meaning "Lanterns from Kyoto", and can be distinguished by the use of horizontal bamboo rings to create the frame, or "bones", of the lantern.

This lampshade comes in two sizes:

Ellipse: 50cm x 18cm (19.5inch x 7inch)
Round: 38cm x 36cm (15inch x 14inch)

For those who prefer a different size, we are happy to work with the Kojima family to customize your very own lamp shade.
