Originally working in construction, he shifted paths after an accident and immersed himself in the world of natural dyes, tying (shibori) and dyeing (zome) techniques. For over 47 years, he has created textiles that reflect Japan’s seasons, nature, and heritage, all from his intimate workshop nestled near Kiyomizu Temple.
