Slim Angled Cup

For a limited time, our artist exhibition is spotlighting Sakiko Tomibe, a Fushimi-based pottery artist who is known for her works of incredible delicacy. Each object carries the character of a traditional form with a contemporary touch. 

The lightness inherent in her work is an expression of her skill, but each object remains utilitarian: its purpose is to be used, not to be admired at a distance. They retain a warmth and approachability. The earth tones pay homage to the clay she uses, and the shapes are intentionally chosen for their usefulness.
