Rope Noren
The rope noren is made from jute, prized for its soft feel. Hanging from bamboo rods, each individual strand is braided and woven into a lattice pattern for additional visual appeal.

About the artisan
The rope noren artisans have created them for over 80 years. Originally used for Shinto ceremonies, this style of noren is both symbolic and beautiful. The craftspeople are challenging themselves to maintain the relevance of rope noren in a modern world.
