In addition to gold, powdered brass can also be used as the finishing step of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken items. Brass gives the repair a finish similar to gold, but as it is available at a significantly lower cost and larger quantity, we recommended it for repairing larger pieces.
If you're a beginner of kintsugi and still need to get all the materials, we recommend purchasing our complete Kintsugi Kit.
While the initial look is very similar to gold, the color does change slightly over time, while gold does not. Unlike gold, which is completely food-safe, brass requires a finishing layer of kiurushi to be safe for food and drink.
