The simple and modern design of these cylindrical vessels is ideal for drinks as well as small dishes and desserts. Made with iron-rich clay, these cups enhance and mellow the flavors of Japanese tea. Complete the set with the rest of the collection.
As a set, you can enjoy the variation of finishes while maintaining the uniform style. The cups are unglazed, exposing the warmth of the clay - and over time and use, they will develop a slight gloss.
The cup is handmade by a family-run business established four generations ago in Mie Prefecture. Entering the business as clay makers and sellers in 1913, the family has deep knowledge of the soil of the local area and how to develop it into clay that is most suitable for pottery. In 1972, they branched out into making teapots of their own.
