The silk of these robes utilizes traditional techniques unique to the silk and kimono industry, which is facing heavy decline. These robes are made in partnership with one of the few specialists who works with wide chirimen silk.
The robes are 100% silk, and durable enough to machine wash. In addition to benefits like being temperature-regulating and quick-drying, this type of silk is decadent against your skin, with a suede-like feel.
Offered in two colorways, Black and deep Navy, these robes are designed as loungewear but can be styled as outerwear — the choice is yours.
About the artisan
Carrying on the tradition of chirimen silk design that the Kyōtango city of Kyoto prefecture is famous for, Miyashin has been weaving fabric for kimono since the Meiji era. Their work is recognized for their modern and ambitious techniques, and their specialization with wide chirimen silk sets them apart.

Washing instructions
- The best method for washing is to handwash in 40° water, but you can machine wash on a gentle cycle, also at 40°.
- Do not bleach, do not tumble dry. Dry your robe flat in the shade.
- Iron without steam with a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric of the robe.
- Your robe can be dry cleaned.
