The Joinery Stool by POJ Studio x Norm Architects presents the pinnacle of clean and minimal design, a blend of Japanese and Danish aesthetics.

The stools are made of dense hinoki, and showcase the story of the wood through the rings, which remain clean and visible as part of the stool’s inherent design quality.

They are built exclusively with Japan’s no-nails joinery method. Every part is structurally sound thanks to precisely interlocking joints.

This project aims to contribute to Japan’s sustainable foresting practice by rebalancing ecosystems and bringing more work to Japanese carpenters skilled in joinery techniques.
