Cast Iron Rests
Created using centuries-old metalwork techniques, our Cast Iron Rests offer a diversity of application.
Enjoy this handcrafted piece as part of a crafted tablescape, providing a rest for chopsticks and cutlery, or incorporated into your personal crafting practice as a rest for calligraphy brushes and kintsugi tools.
The texture of the Cast Iron Rest is inspired by the traditional woodworking technique of naguri, where wood is scooped or hammered to bring a three-dimensional texture to flat surfaces.
Our Cast Iron Rests are made by Suzuki Morihisa, a 16th generation specialist Nanbu Tekki artisan.
