This chashaku tea scoop is handcrafted by Tango Tanimura, a 20th generation tea whisk craftsman who carries on the legacy of his family that has been making tea utensils for more than five centuries in Nara.
This elegant tea scoop, made for scooping matcha powder out of the tea canister and into a bowl, is available in two types of bamboo: kurochiku, or 'black bamboo', and hachiku, or 'white bamboo'. Find the chasen tea whisk in the same colors here.
Gently wipe off excess matcha powder with a soft, dry cloth immediately after use.
Store in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight.
